Actually, the scenario sounds pretty funny and I can already imagine every single situation.

Let's imagine for a moment that the poor boy forgot to tell his S/o about his fight on behalf of Athena.

So when S/o walked into the room and saw him in his armor... she got a "Lois Lane". Her boyfriend a zodiac knight? Naaaah, impossible. Must be a pretty good cosplay.

She couldn't help but be thrilled at how well done, I mean, literally wearing armor to emulate a knight? Now that's love of art, the passion in this work... she couldn't help but express it to him.

Seiya was quite confused and embarrassed. I mean, he loved that his girlfriend showed so much passion in "looking for the details of the cosplay" but at the same time he felt that not only did he owe her the truth but he didn't deserve those compliments because he hadn't even made the armor.

Unfortunately, every time he tried, the redder his face felt. He couldn't take that joy away from her, not yet.

Here the reason I didn't say he was a zodiac knight is because he is too reserved and aloof about some things.

And Camus, especially Camus. Moreover, you just knew that Hyoga trained to be stronger alone. Camus only knew that Hyoga went to nearby villages to "read and train his mind". You both suspected certain lies, but Hyoga was living up to "expectations" so there was no problem?

So when you saw him in his armor in the dead of winter... you couldn't help but put several blankets and a coat on him. Hyoga was quite surprised and touched, it had been a long time since anyone had taken care of him like that.

As a cosplayer model, you told him that you were proud of his dedication and success in his costume, as his girlfriend "what were you thinking? It's so cold, you might get hypothermia".

Hyoga didn't correct you, it was better that you thought (for now) that this was just a costume and that he was a "handsome fool" who wanted to surprise you.

With you by your side, winter felt like spring.

I think Shun never said anything because of the danger you might be in, I mean, look what happened to Ikki's girlfriend.

However, unlike the others, Shun might even go so far as to play along: photos, short videos, even do a little roleplaying to make your moment of joy turn into fun and euphoria.

It was quite an interesting afternoon until he took you by the hands and had to tell you the truth. And well, as the meme goes, "at first Ego thought it was a joke, but as Lingüini explained to him Ego's smile disappeared".

Next thing Shun knew, your next cosplay would be "The Knight of Andromeda" and that you would always support him no matter what.

Bonus: In the Hades saga, even though you were worried after everything that happened, Shun gave you the clothes that Hades used so you could cosplay.

I think Ikki needs no explanation as to why he didn't tell you he is a zodiac knight.

So after a successful fight and with all his buddies safe... he never thought he would stumble upon one of your photo shoots.

On the one hand, he was quite happy that you were fine and having fun. On the other hand, he had to put up with the teasing from his classmates and brother. Either with comments or Shun and Seiya posing for your photos. They even forced him to take a group photo for one of your stories.

For more "fun" the fools commented on the story, "praising" the cosplay. And you were responding with immense joy at how your boyfriend was "quite skilled at cosplay, just like his friends and brother".

Ikki vowed revenge, each of them would pay for their crime. Except for you and Shun, you guys were okay.

I think Shiryu was honest from the beginning, but maybe you didn't believe him from the start. The other is that there was so much work that the detail completely slipped your mind.

So when you praised his cosplay, Shiryu mito you confused, but he appreciated the praise to his uniform. That's when reality hit you again and you could only feel your cheeks burning, hiding your face in your hands and whispering a "sorry".

Shiryu just smiled and stroked your head, telling you it was okay. Until Seiya said that his costume was better for cosplay, to which Ikki told him it was "simple and insipid". Thus starting a fight of "Which armor was better for cosplaying?"

Bonus:

Saori watched happily as you tried on the ancient robes of the Goddess Athena. She didn't have the heart to tell you that it wasn't a cosplay, nor to refuse to let you try them on.

She even put on the ornaments she herself would wear. You were her goddess of love, just as Ares had Aphrodite, she had you.

Saori was happy that you didn't know she was Athena, because you loved Saori Kido, who she really was. There was no duty, no quest for power, not that you liked the "Saori, the rich girl" part either. She was very grateful that Jabu had forgiven her for her mistreatment. Although now he kept teasing her about her "next cosplay".

How quickly did/will they fall in love? - I’d say it would be a kind of slow, natural progression from aquaintances to friendship to love, probably without either of them really noticing.

Who did the most planning? - Um, IDK, Huan? I feel like Ikki wouldn’t really care much about the wedding itself (she just wants to be married already), but Huan would want to at least do something to make it special for her. 

Who stressed the most? - Ikki. There’s a part of her that would feel like this whole thing is a dream until she finally seals the deal. 

How fancy was the ceremony? -  Back of a pickup truck | 2 | 3 | 4 | Normal Church Wedding | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | Kate and William wish they were this big. 

Who was specifically not invited to the wedding? - Everyone? 

Children: 

How many children will they have naturally? - Good question. They both grew up in larger than average families (you will never be able to convince me that Pema didn’t have at least one or two more kids post canon), and I don’t think either of them would mind continuing that, so..... they’d have as many kids as they have? Probably at least five or six, considering their genes. 

How many children will they adopt? - Hmmm..... I don’t think either of them would be actively looking to adopt, but if they were in a situation where there was a kid who needed a home, they’d definitely take them in with open arms. (Now that I think about it, they’d probably have a lot of unofficial “adopted” children-- people who find them, or who they find, who they’d be totally welcoming towards and let come hang over or crash for a night, no questions asked.) 

Who gets stuck with the most diapers? - Ikki. Huan would nope out of there the minute it got smelly, while Ikki would barely notice. (After Meelo’s farting phase, nothing grosses her out.) 

Who is the stricter parent? - Ikki. Huan would be totally chill with letting the kids have total freedom of expression. Ikki, on the other hand, would be like, “we have rules for a reason.” She wouldn’t be, like, super-strict or anything, but there would definitely be clear boundaries. 

Who stops the kid(s) from doing dangerous stunts after school? - Huan. His siblings weren’t really the crazy stunt kind (although Wei and Wing had their moments), so he’d be rather concerned and a little confused if one of their kids decided to try, say, jumping off a roof. (Ikki would be the one yelling, “do a backflip, you coward!”) 

Who remembers to pack the lunch(es)? - Usually Ikki, although Huan would also make them sometimes. (The bigger issue is remembering when he’s supposed to eat.) 

Who is the more loved parent? - It depends on the individual kid. Some of them would prefer Huan, some would like Ikki better, and some probably wouldn’t have a favorite. 

Who is more likely to attend the PTA meetings? - Neither? They would both go a couple of times, and be bored out of their minds. They’d trade off on the mandatory ones, and Ikki will occasionally go if she hears that the topic of conversation is something she thinks is actually important. 

Who cried the most at graduation? - Neither! (Ikki. Just a little.) 

Who is more likely to bail the child(ren) out of trouble with the law? - Depends on why they got into trouble. Probably both of them, but it depends on the issue. Like, if it was just a prank taken out of hand, they’d both be on board. But if it was because one of the kids got in trouble for doing something irresponsible/dangerous/harmful to themself or others, Ikki would not be on board with letting them get off scot-free. Actions have consequences. 

Cooking: 

Who does the most cooking? - Ikki-- she actually really likes messing around in the kitchen. 

Who is the most picky in their food choice? - Huan. He’s very particular about what he does and doesn’t like, while Ikki’s a lot more willing to try new things. 

Who does the grocery shopping? - They’d probably be that annoyingly adorable couple who go grocery shopping together. 

How often do they bake desserts? - Not very often. Neither of them really likes baking (it’s so exact-- there’s no room for adjusting or experimenting). They’d probably pick up something from the bakery fairly often (because both of them have a sweet tooth). 

Are they more of a meat lover or a salad eater? - Ikki’s vegetarian, and Huan doesn’t have strong feelings either way, so they don’t really have meat in the house. 

Who is more likely to surprise the other(s) with an anniversary dinner? - On the one hand, I’d say probably Ikki, just because she likes cooking and is a little more impulsive like that. But on the other, I could see Huan planning something special ahead of time, because he’s thoughtful like that. So it’s a toss up. 

Who is more likely to suggest going out? - Again, spontaneously? Ikki. A few days or weeks ahead of time? Huan.

a random thought: i think the show is better watched binged straight through from beginning to end than it was watching it in real time, with the space between books, because i remember being really irritated by korra especially in book 2, but when i sat down to watch it straight from beginning to end after it was all over i liked the pacing a lot more and i liked korra a lot more. 

An unpopular opinion: back when book 1 first happened i thought it would be better if korra could still only airbend at the end of book 1 and spent the rest of the books getting the other elements back but in retrospect i don’t know how that would work (although i mean given wan and the lion turtles? that could’ve actually worked.) but i still get a little Irritated about her just regaining her bending like that. sometimes i feel like the writing in korra, as good as it is OVERALL, is kind of, uneven because i think bryke weren’t ever sure if they’d get the next season???? oh this is not unpopular i’m really bad at unpopular 

okay this is probably the true unpopular opinion, i don’t think pema should’ve been pregnant in book 1 solely because in general (but not always) i Do Not like pregnancy plots because they’re mostly used for certain dramatic moments and then afterwards you have a baby to deal with that usually isn’t ever talked about again because no one has the time to bother with them because now it’s not an optionally angsty plot point i mean seriously what do we really see of rohan after he’s born and if we see him he’s just passed around like a lil potato and not that we HAVE to see character in A NEWBORN but YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN i am of the firm opinion that if you write something you have to deal with the repercussions and that means Dealing With New Baby Character and rarely do i see that happen

Pairing I am not a fan of: is there anyone who’s a fan of mako and korra, at this point? okay probably but. no 

Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): okay it’s not that like, i think they screwed up here, but like, what i would’ve done for more info about izumi and just like, zuko as a parent, OH but at (my usual) a passing backwards glance over the series, maybe mako could’ve been, written better, idk, there’s a thin line sometimes between ‘a character rightfully changing over time and making mistakes and other important character stuff and i’m just rightfully irritated at some of the stuff he did cause like the audience is supposed to be’ and ‘a character should’ve just been written better’ 

Favourite Friendship: su and lin do become better friends, right?? (it’s been so long.) and i specify ‘friends’ because i think their relationship has to exist as them being friends compared to them being sisters (not because they’re half-sisters but because of just how they were as sisters) 

Character I most identify with: it’s korra because of The Depression Arc like damn 

Character I wish I could be: yeah it’s still jinora, even before last airbender happened i was always super-fascinated (in the way that children are with the idea of magic) by the idea of controlling air so when the show happen i always wanted to be an airbender, just in general, and i always really liked jinora’s wholehearted belief and confidence in her abilities and how take no shit she becomes (and also “i will make no such promises.”)

When I started shipping them: the finale happened and i was like ‘well there’s no way i’m not gonna ship them’ 

My thoughts: i really wanna rewatch the show (i haven’t since......when did pokemon go come out, it was that summer. 2016????? really????? fuck.) and really pay attention to their relationship because memory tells me it could’ve been a little more consistent, but in general they have the most genuine, heartfelt chemistry built upon actual respect and admiration for each other and they get each other in a way that mako clearly did not get them. also goddddd the fact that asami is the only one korra can comfortably write to while she’s depressed really fucking gets me 

What makes me happy about them: they make each other happy and (idk in my opinion which rapidly builds headcanons at the speed of light sometimes) make each other feel happy about themselves and that’s really all you can ask for, in a relationship 

What makes me sad about them: when they were weird rivals for a while in book 1 because girl rivals (especially over a boy) hurt my soul 

Things done in fanfic that annoys me: i’ve never actually sought out fic with them!! 

Things I look for in fanfic: in general, i am, a terrible stickler about characterization, and that doesn’t change in any pairing or fandom 

My wishlist: my Absolute Jam, across the board in all fandoms, is post-canon fics (or during canon sometimes that’s applicable) where, the actual canon trauma is discussed and worked through (in some way or another) so if i was going to look for fanfic with them, that would be, at the top of the list, but i would also just take slice of life cuddles because i always think about that sweet art bryan did where they’re in the turtledove float and that’s so comfy and warm 

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: personal happiness 

My happily ever after for them: they get to chill and not have to run around saving the world all the time

How I feel about this character: korra took a while to grow on me, and also like, main characters tend to be typically underrated in a large cast and aren’t usually people’s favorites compared to other characters, but i have come to really like her a lot!! she really is more lonely than people gave her credit for and she has to deal with A Lot, constantly, and so much of korra is her trying to figure out not just how to be the best avatar but how to be the best her and when she gets to do either one and who lets her do either one, and her frustration and rage are so quick and volatile and personal and high-key relatable, and damn was her depression/recovery arc done well 

also the fact that she was accidentally holding onto the remaining lead and had to get it out herself is, yeah 

Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: asami! 

My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: KORRA AND NAGA i was going through my korra tag and found the comic where she finds naga and god it’s just the best 

My unpopular opinion about this character: hmmmm. is this still unpopular? korra’s occasional brattiness is completely justified when you look at the series as a whole (which is why i mention watching it that way) because wow she’s grown up completely isolated from anyone else her own age and people in her life inadvertently or on purpose took advantage of that 

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: all i would say is her, awkwardness in interacting with people at the beginning of the show because of how she grew up but we do get that, don’t we

☀️ : Who is your character’s partner Pokémon? Do they prefer to stay outside of their Pokéball? What’s their dynamic with their trainer? Ikki’s first and strongest Pokémon is his Rapidash, caught as a Ponyta when he was still a child. Since he’s rather casual as a trainer, it’s kept out of its Pokéball mostly for utility, such as transport, or just so they can spend time together.

A pun about horsing around would totally make sense here.

Although it’s rather aloof compared to other member of its species, spending too much time with its laidback oddball of a trainer made it more relaxed and slightly eccentric as well. You could say that Ikki is the trainer equivalent of a horse girl.

👥 : Does your character travel with anyone aside from their Pokémon?  Not exactly. Although Ikki is very sociable and occasionally goes along with other people to befriend them, he never actually travels with others permanently since he wants to do it at his own pace.

Also, he doesn’t want to draw any suspicion. Gotta make sure no one considers the idea of demonic possession, you know.

✨ : Has your character ever encountered a shiny Pokémon ? Do they have one in their team?  As a trainer, no. He’s not that lucky.

In general, he’s seen quite a few. There was plenty of time for that, after all.

🌑 : How does your character handle villainous organisations? Have they ever encountered one? How did that go?  In general, he doesn’t care about most things that don’t actively involve him. The same logic applies for villainous teams, since as far as he’s concerned a bunch of greedy people won’t make a big difference in the long term and any problems they cause will fix themselves given enough time.

There was that one time he felt the need to get involved, though, and we all know how that went.

🎃 : Do any Pokémon types unsettle your character? Do they have a phobia of them? Why?  While he’s not outright afraid of any types, he tends to be wary of Ghost-types, being basically a ghost himself. 

🗻 : What type of journey is your character on? Are they tackling the Pokémon League, engaging in contests, on researching endeavors, a ranger scouting for danger? Or do they have a more ‘normal’ occupation? What type of life do they lead?  Although he’s technically taking the league challenge, that’s basically an excuse so he can travel without anyone asking too many questions. His real goal is learning more about the world through firsthand experience instead of just being an observer, so for him the journey is far more important than the destination.

He also wants to get closer to people and prove (mostly to himself) that other legendary Pokémon are so isolated that they have no idea what they’re actually protecting, but that’s more of a side goal.

One of the most truly pressing issues in Saint Seiya canon: why the fuck is Milo like this?

- I SEE THAT SAGA SENSED THAT AIOLOS WAS TAKING A BATH, SO HE FELT THE NEED TO JUMP IN TOO! and thus a meme was born

- Uhhhh, Saga? I know you probably had a crush on Aiolos at all, but... really, dude? ????????

- AND HEEEERE HEEEEE ISSSSSSSS

- Milo's ridiculous ego is on full display the second he opens his fucking mouth. No "what's going on, Pope?" or "How may I serve you?" but "WOW, POPE, FOR YOU TO SUMMON A GOLD SAINT! (DID I MENTION I'M A GOLD SAINT, BECAUSE I AM.)

- MILO. ALL HE FUCKING DID WAS ASK IF YOU KNEW ABOUT THE SITUATION. What is the need for you to add "heh, not that I care, since I'm so awesome, just so you know!" Yes, a lot of Gold Saints have pretty overinflated egos - yume and I actually thought about it, and we're pretty sure Camus is just about the ONLY one who doesn't pull some form of smug "heh, a Bronze trying to fight a Gold? lmao, and also, rofl" but Scorpio Milo is... something else.

- Ikki working for Sanctuary at first still feels really weird and ill-fitting. Well, fortunately, it's not really dwelled on that much, so it's easily ignored! That's one of the good things about there being no real Saint Seiya canon... <_<

- In a way, though, it is certainly fitting that Milo's scene here is our first proper introduction to a "Gold Saint", because Milo certainly thinks he is THE Gold Saint in a lot of ways. It drips from the way he responds to everything. "Measly Bronze Saints, they must be crazy, lol!" It's actually really interesting to think he was originally planned to be Hyouga's master. Like, in some ways that really fits - Smugswan had to get the smug and the overinflated sense of ego from somewhere, and it sure as hell wasn't Camus!

- It's also sort of interesting because Kurumada pulled the switcheroo on the basis of "oooh, ice/water themed signs, oooh!" But even at this stage, Milo definitely has a very, very different personality than Marshmallow Saint Camus. What would he and Hyouga's hypothetical encounter have looked like, really...?

- I'm not trying to imply, by the way, that Milo's sense of egotism is solely about straightforwardly boosting himself up - because it's not. It's intertwined with his perception of Saint honor and what it means to him to embody that, which becomes clear in how he deals with Camus, Hyouga, and Kanon respectively later on. It's also intertwined with a negative five thousand debuff to his intelligence stat, but, you know.

- I love Saga just sort of ignoring Milo going WHAT? A BRONZE BEATING A SILVER? RIDICULOUS, I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A THING! and continuing to exposit. Saga, why the fuck did you summon Milo of all people here to deal with this in the first place? I mean, not only would leaning on Aphrodite, Deathmask, or even Shura make infinitely more sense, but... it's fucking Milo. Did your bath-bonding with Aiolos rattle your judgment temporarily?  

- And right back at him, Milo basically brushes aside poor Saga's exposition to go "ARE YOU SERIOUSLY BOTHERING THE GREAT KONO MILO WITH THIS BULLSHIT, POPE? REALLY??? KONO MILO, THE GOLD SAINT???"

- Saga begins to realize his terrible, terrible mistake and cuts off Milo in the middle of his bitching, but Milo ignores him to continue whining.

- See, it'd be one thing if Milo suggested that the situation bore more investigation, or perhaps these Bronze Saints were being misled so they shouldn't be so fast to jump to the execution option, but no. It's all about his fucking pride.

- Saga is getting so edgy and short at this point and oh my god I cannot believe Milo is still fucking trying to argue with him THIS IS THE FUCKING POPE WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU

- Like, yume and I utterly lost our fucking minds at Milo blowing off Athena to haze Kanon when we were re-watching the Hades OAVs, but oh god it is extremely fucking consistent with this characterization here

- Poor Saga. "LOOK, THEY HAVE A FUCKING GOLD CLOTH, OKAY!?!? JESUS CHRIST WHY THE FUCK DID I NOT GET APHRODITE TO DO THIS"

- okay okay i know it's because lol seat of the pants kurumada making shit up as he went along and was promptly retconned out because it makes no sense but i will never stop laughing at milo being shocked that there are twelve gold saints. WHAT??? NOT JUST SCORPIO AND SAGITTARIUS???? WHO WOULD HAVE EVER GUESSED???? THEY COME IN, LIKE, A SET????

- Kanon pretending he's Sea Dragon is the funniest moment in Saint Seiya, but Milo's spectacular intelligence debuff is also a consistent point of hilarity.

- Shaina's crush on Seiya might be, like, one of my least favorite things in StS seriously. It's so unnecessary and it IS basically a pitch-perfect example of that "behind the ruthless, frightening female warrior lies ~the soft heart of a woman~ that only the dreamy male protagonist can truly uncover!" trope that I fucking despise with all my being.

- yume and I were cracking the fuck up to discover that the Tencent version of this sequence has Seiya bringing up the Saintias when Shaina explains the mask issue. Like, my issues with Saintia Sho as a series aside, that's just really adorable.

- The mask issue in general... there are really interesting things that you could do with it, both for Sainthood in general and for Shaina as an individual (the vibe I get is that Shaina takes it unusually seriously, even though it is accepted as a general rule) since it feels like sort of a mark of sexism that would be a part of an old, traditional, religious order - but I can't say I'm a fan of any attempts so far in the series to "address" it. Omega was a thing, and that thing was Bad.

- "Kill or love" is pretty bullshit, though. How about "kill or be expelled from Sanctuary"? I also don't really like Seiya being all "what, is that the only reason?" when he thinks it's about humiliation/pride - like, what's wrong with that? It makes sense with how Shaina has been characterized...

- this flashback is so fucking stupid

- OH NO, SEIYA, YOU SAW ME PET A RABBIT WHEN YOU WERE A LITTLE KID AND I WAS A TEENAGER AND THUS YOU HAVE UNLOCKED MY SOFT WOMAN'S HEART! I bet Seiya fucking tried to jump a high bar, too, as every single woman from the Fate franchise happened to be strolling by?

- Like, Shaina, did you fall in love with this little kid who talked down to you then or... because uhhh...

- Also, like, yeah, it's Saint Seiya, and "pulled things out of my ass" and "retconned" are the name of the game, but come on, there was no indication of this kind of past in all the screentime Shaina has had up until this point. Wasn't her grudge against him regarding Marin and Cassios and being defeated by him in battle enough? Do we really have to enforce her ~femininity~ that Seiya ~exposed~ too? Ugh ugh ugh.

- Whatever, I really do like Shaina, this garbage aside. It's just a shame we fell back on this dumb trope of all things to justify her transition into one of the good guys when it was wholly unneeded.

- Aaaand we're back to Milo and Saga. I love how the framing of this episode implies that Saga has been sitting there having to explain things very slowly to Milo all fucking day. Gonna need another bath to unwind after this shit, Gemini.

- HAVE I MENTIONED, POPE, THAT I AM A GOLD SAINT, AND THUS I AM AMAZING? I'M NOT SURE YOU KNEW. LET ME MENTION IT AGAIN. I'M A GOLD SAINT, BY THE WAY.

- And Lia enters the scene!

- Okada made this an explicit issue in Episode G, but the contrast between fully-decked-out-in-his-Cloth "have I mentioned in the last five minutes that I am a Gold Saint, preen preen" Milo and Lia--who strolls in WITHOUT his Cloth, just his regular training clothes - is really striking.

- Milo's face when Lia comes in... hmmm...

- I don't think Saga, like, actively made a point of or went out of his way to play ~mind games~ with Aiolia or anything, but this is definitely a deliberate passive-aggressive diss. The kind you would give when it's like, ah yes, I ruined this kid's life, let me just innocuously twist the knife a little here...

- You really can understand why Aiolia is as fucking mad and as fucking repressed as he is, from the dressed-up hostility coming from both sides in this whole amazing shitstorm.

- This is... an amazing moment. "What if I still wanted Milo to go?" "Eh, I'd kick his fucking ass." And Milo's EXCUSE ME!?!?! reaction lmfaooooo

- You can just sense the stony bitterness coming off of Lia here, though? This is a dangerous game to play, considering the whole rule about "no duels between Saints." Just the sheer dismissiveness of it, too. Just as Saga gets in his passive-aggressive digs against Aiolia, Lia gets his in against... Milo, lol?

- And Milo starts trying to argue with the Pope AGAIN and Saga finally just tells him to shut the hell up. Saga confirmed for legitimately impressive patience honestly.

- God, and Lia just leaves once he gets the confirmation. I LOVE that Aiolia went through this whole thing since coming in without saying a single fucking word to Milo or sparing him more than a glance. Please, just ask this man about his opinion of Scorpio Milo, I’m begging you.

- MILO FOR FUCK'S SAKE.

- And Saga is the one who points out that, BECAUSE of his history and his relation to Aiolos, he has a compelling reason to work on this case in particular. Milo just stops at HOW COULD YOU RELY ON HIM HE HAS TRAITOR'S BLOOD. The intelligence debuff is real.

- But, yeah, you can tell Lia has cause to be as cold, dismissive, and passive-aggressive towards Milo as he was. They... they do not have a good relationship.  

- It legitimately boggles my mind how there is a weird semi-common fanon about Milo and Lia being close friends, or Milo being this great guy who was so supportive of him. I've run across it multiple times in my hunts for cute fanart or interesting discussion, and I feel like I'm staring at an incomprehensible alien entity every time. Like. Where did you get that. How did. The characterization we get from both of them indicates the exact opposite. I would not be remotely surprised if Aiolia, as bitter and angry as he truly is, is going to hold a grudge against Milo until the end of time, long after Milo has forgotten about it.

- Rather than being his friend, Milo is literally the ONLY Gold Saint we see actually giving Aiolia shit for being a traitor's brother. Like I mentioned back in the Silver Saint scene with Aiolia, yume and I actually talked about this - since she is a raving Aiolia fan and all - about the possible sources of Lia's torment from his peers. The shitty Silver Saints, yes, and Deathmask, yes, because he's actively malicious in general, but he wouldn't be rubbing it in because he actually cares or thinks Lia having "traitor blood" actually means something. MILO sure does, though!

- Milo is prideful, often in shallow ways, and incredibly overbearing about that pride, thinking he has the right to lecture and judge and override others, including Athena herself. There is like literally no question in my mind that he is friends with Camus because Camus is basically the only person who knows him who will actually tolerate him.

- Milo: "Hmm, lots of people don't trust the Pope, and no one has seen his face. WHAT COULD IT MEAN??? welp back to my temple wonder what camus is up to"

- "Brother, I will make up for your sin, even if I have to sacrifice my life!" with a thousand-yard stare. Aiolia, you really, really need some therapy, badly...

- Man, I was gonna cover more episodes with this writeup, but it ends up I had a lot of ranting bottled up about GOD MILO WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU. Oh well. Next time, Aiolia continues to have serious, serious psychological problems! A good time is had by all!

Hi! (Please excuse me while I interrupt this meme and hug the Princess, who is not feeling her perky, healthy best.)

Which fic has been the hardest to write?

I Do Not Ask The Night For Explanations. Absolutely. It’s very hard for me to write for so many reasons. The subject matter is difficult. I’ve never tackled a redemption story before and there is this balance where yes, you have to make the redeemed person at least somewhat likable. If you don’t, who the hell will read it? But at the same time you have to always keep in mind what they did. I mean...Baatar Jr took part in a military dictatorship. He knew about the camps; he built the damned Colussus, for fuck’s sake. It’s not like he was just a little bit bad. He was not a good guy. There were reasons he did what he did - we’re starting to see that his childhood, as the oldest child and nonbender in one of the world’s most famous bending families wasn’t easy. But Bumi was the same and he didn’t do what Baatar did. So why? And what does it do to him, this evil that he not only embraced but tried to further? The man is quite literally hiding from the world up there because he’s afraid to look anyone in the eye. He’s walking a tightrope and his balance is damn shaky.

Ikki is also hard to write. She would be so easy to make into the manic pixie dream girl trope and UGH. For the record, I see Ikki as having ADHD; that’s not the same thing at all, and there are consequences to her disorganization and her inability to get her shit together, just like there is for anyone else who has ADHD (including me and my daughter as well). Ikki is not the angel to Baatar’s demon; she’s sometimes a real pain in the ass and her tendency to run away from the least whiff of responsibility is not exactly a favorable characteristic.

Huan, too. He’s a big part of this story, and he’s human and flawed. Sometimes he’s an asshole, too; disabled people are so often depicted as being black or white - either they are the stone cold villains or they are a noble pinnacle of perfection. That’s a trope I loathe with all my being. Sometimes his disability makes things difficult for him, of course. He’s also sometimes just a stubborn jerk. How does he really feel about his brother showing up and trying to take over his life? Is he really okay with it? Or is he carrying some resentment? Writing that in a way that honors his disability is not easy.

The story is so big and so involved and it has never just flown out of my fingers like Wu’s stuff does. It’s making me work really hard and sometimes I resent it for that! I also love it, because it is kicking my ass and making me a better writer. So there’s a love/hate thing going on where I am like, Fuck you story, I don’t have to write you so how about I don’t, neener! and the story is like, You’ll be back. And goddamnit, I always am.

Sometimes I yell at it.

Also, nobody reads it. Well. Okay. About twenty people read it. It’s the story no one wanted, I swear! But one thing I will say is that those of you who do read it are really devoted to it. Like, my Beta loves Baatar Jr (her favorite of all of mine) and she loves that story and sometimes she’s like SO HEY HOW ABOUT THAT STORY, HUH? and I’m like...but how about a prompt about different POV characters and she’s like THOSE WERE GREAT, I REALLY LOVED THEM AND YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE I LOVE? THE NORTHERN AIR TEMPLE THAT’S WHAT.

But holy crap it’s hard to write and post a chapter and see the hit count barely turn over.

Sometimes I feel like that damn story will end me. I also feel that if I can ever finish it I can consider it a first draft and maybe, just maybe I will be able to scrape together the bones of it and rewrite it into something original. We will see.

I'm not sure how old this is, but I'm re-reading this manga right now and I can sertenly say that it is not Tumblr nor Twitter friendly nor is it really good after it got convoluted. But still it's my guilty pleasure even though it's so ridiculous (there was a point where Omaha, parody of Obama, changes bodys with a 15 year old girl, you can't make this stuff up). Plus the plot twist didn't come without warning, there is so much foreshadowing.

The show is called Air Gear if you want to read it. Warning there are mentions of rape of underaged girls, a butt load of fanservice, violence and later on it gets really bloody. And I believe the mangaka used to write hentai and he also used a lot of memes before memes were a thing.

Anyway, I will never get over the fact that Ikki(the MC) found out the truth while being in a safe environment with people he trusted, who didn't want to hurt him and would have protected him from the guy who used him. Minewhile Kazu, the guy who only got into A-T to try protect his school from Buccha, never took credit for anything he did and only wanted to run around and have fun, saw a woman getting crucified by a sword (which is I believe was the first on screen kill), threw up, used as a hostage and he ended up beliving that 2 people he admired (might have had a crush on) sacrificed themselves for him. I swear there were times I wanted to drop the series but didn't just to see Kazu getting his revenge. And nobody in his team knows about it. Hell, it's not like we even know about his daily life aside the fact that he has an older sister, a chiwawa and his parents are always overseas. Dude might have known Ikki before Ringo. They were friends since primary school (6 year old), Ume would have been 1 back then. Seriously, Sometimes I wish that Oh!Great would have given us a more clear timeline and more background information.

Kazuma’s story arc was my favorite in the manga. especially HOW he got regalia.

- ^ About Lin’s Sasaeng, once one of her friends found out and told the others...The boys were pissed. As in Toma was about to murder someone if Shin didn’t hold him back (even though he punched the wall earlier), Ikki had a private talk with Lin saying that she can tell him anything and he’ll take care of it along with the others and Kent was asking her to reconsider the idol career...But we all know what Ukyo did once he found out...

- Kohana got sick to the point of going to the hospital and all of the LuNars were telling her to get better soon.

- Haruka was on We Got Married with Korean idol Yuzu from INK04.

- EVERYONE shipped these two together...Even their groupmates.

- Everyone also cried when they had to leave the show.

The Inevitable StS Rewatch, Episodes 20-22

AH YES, AFTER TWENTY EPISODES, MY TRUE ANIME STS NEMESIS HAS ARRIVED....... THE ANTI-CAMUS.............

- When I first watched Saint Seiya a million (or six) years ago, I didn't really have a strong opinion on the Crystal Saint. Like, yumetabibito made sure to inform me what was actually up with the "Hyouga's master" situation, and it was obvious at a glance that Camus was the superior option for drama and Hyouga's development, but... he seemed okay for what he was?

- But on rewatch, phew, the Crystal Saint comparatively is... really, really bad!

- And it's not like Camus got much more screentime or anything versus the Crystal Saint. Camus is literally featured in like two episodes total out of 114. I don't even really count Camus as being present in the majority of the Hades arc, because he's there as part of a blob with a Saga-shaped head so Saga can dramatically Athena Exclamation at people. But even so, Camus is so much a better character in like every way possible holy cow.

- Before delving into that, though, I do want to note that a) Marin is super cool! and b) these early Aiolia cameos continue to be charming and also hilarious. I really seriously doubt Toei knew Aiolia was a Gold Saint at the time of writing these appearances, and only had his cameo in the first chapter of the manga to go off of. This leads to some really weird but ultimately interesting depictions, like the Silvers repeatedly disrespecting poor Aiolia hard. It was an accident, but it really works for his character and his endless, endless rage.

- Also, Shun and Saori's friendship is cute as fuck. See, this is why even though the filler is ridiculous, I do like some of the feelings of the dynamics we get out of it before the Bronzies get trapped by eternal stairs.

- I LOVE that Seiya repeatedly loses against Shaina early on and keeps having to be rescued from her by others. I really do like Shaina, but I think her having a crush on Seiya is super unnecessary and a total shame - I love her as ruthless and effective, but not necessarily evil.

- Marin throwing shade at Shaina and trolling her is fantastic. Shaina, fall in love with Marin, not Seiya, goddammit! She is objectively the superior option even putting aside Seiya's brain eventually going full broke for Saori!

- My Camusfamily-loving heart did eeeee to get a quick peek at the village I'm sure they had to go to to buy supplies and such. Please give me a filler episode of nothing but Camus terrifying the grocers as he simply tries to purchase carrots for his kids. Look, he doesn't mean to be scary, guys, he's really just figuring out which carrots to buy, it's just his face...

- Okay okay okay. Crystal Saint time.

- It's really funny to think that the Crystal Saint actually probably preceded Camus as a character concept, since we know Kurumada literally pulled Camus straight from his ass ten seconds before introducing him. What makes it kind of a fun thought exercise to compare both of Hyouga's mentors is that they're really the same character concept and "type."  In some ways CS almost feels like a rough draft for Camus, honestly: Hyouga's kind-hearted master who loves him, and really wants the best for him, but whom Hyouga is tragically forced to fight and kill. 

- Crystal Saint, however, plays this absolutely straight with zero nuance or deviation from the script. He is a Good Guy (slaughtering the poor Sanctuary guards and snapping that one dude's neck aside) who objects to Sanctuary's brutality and evil. He smiles and laughs and pats Hyouga on the head and openly encourages him. The only reason he and Hyouga are forced to fight is because he is literally brainwashed.

- Aquarius Camus, on the other hand, needs no fucking outside influence or brainwashing to make a giant fucking trainwreck out of the situation involving the student he loves. HE DOES IT ALL ON HIS OWN, BABY.

- That instantly makes him a better character, because Camus - again, with pretty much the same amount of screentime - manages an interiority and an agency because he's conflicted about what he's doing and does not know the right or best thing to do, and his priorities are a complete tangled mess. He doesn't have it in him to just turn against Sanctuary on a whim. But he doesn't want Hyouga to die. But he doesn't go out of his way to find out what Hyouga is trying to do and if it's right or not, because oh my god Hyouga is going to fucking die aaaa aaaa aaaaaaaaaaa oh god aaaaaaaaaaa

- Part of what makes me like Camus so much is that he feels really interesting and unique for a "good shounen anime mentor" in what an utter fucking mess he is. Most characters in his type, like the Crystal Saint, essentially have their shit together to be very stable and solid figures for the protagonist to fall back on. They might put up a certain harsh facade in order to push their students forward, but ultimately they are in control of themselves and are deliberately orchestrating how they present and such for their students' benefit. I'm thinking of, like, figures like Hiko from Kenshin, or Izumi from FMA, those sorts. But not Camus. He is held in extremely high regard as a beloved mentor by the text - "not a day goes by that I haven't thought of you!" cries Hyouga (lol), and there's no questioning his love for his student, but he is a legitimate panicky fuckup who makes an assload of genuine, unnecessary mistakes in how he handles things.

- I should probably save some of my Camusramblings for when Camus, like, actually shows up though huh. OR I COULD JUST REPEAT MYSELF WHEN THE TIME COMES. YEAH. I'LL PROBABLY DO THAT.

- I also want to note that it's fucking hilarious that, like, Yakov tells Hyouga "oh no the Crystal Saint is evil now" and Hyouga is like "sounds legit" and fights him; meanwhile against the, er, "master of his master", Camus, Hyouga cries and breaks down and can't bring himself to punch him. I... hmm. HMMMMM

- But that's what makes Hyouga and Camus's relationship great and fun. The love between them is what gets emphasized, more than anything else - because their duty as Saints gets very entangled in the doubt that that love brings them.

- ANYWAY. MOVING ON. tl;dr, Camus is so obviously a superior option for "Hyouga's tragic mentor" in every way - as an individual character, and in his relationship with Hyouga, and how events play out - it's obvious why the franchise as a whole sort of innocently whistled and nonchalantly kicked Crystal Saint down a cliff.

- Shunrei and Shiryuu are cute as fuck! I don't give a fuck! They're sort of fun and unique in this setting as Shunrei is a "normal person" who is forced to just sort of deal with what it means for her beloved person to be a Saint.

- W-why do soldiers from Sanctuary have guns...?

- WHY BUILD A COMPLETELY RANDOM ICE PYRAMID?

- I like how they even ask the filler villain "why the fuck are you building a random ice pyramid" and it's like "IT'S A MONUMENT OKAY. FOR REASONS."

- I do like Hyouga being well-known and beloved by the villagers, though! I could totally see that! Playing interference for his extremely socially awkward master when they need to buy carrots...

- Camusfamily is forever my favorite, but Dohkofamily can be pretty fucking cute too...

- Boy, how many times is Saori's house gonna get blown up...

- Saori's reactions continue to feel really fluid and fun if you pay attention to her. I really like her panicking at first at her house getting blown up (AGAIN), but then forcing herself to hold it together and do the rationally correct thing, with obvious difficulty.

- Tatsumi you useless FUCK

- oh my god tatsumi giving in instantly and giving them information. why didn't you  guys let ikki kill him. jesus fuck

- It's a small thing, but I appreciate Saori remaining focused on her worry for Shun in this situation instead of, like, falling back on crying for Seiya or something. It's a bunch of little things like that that make me able to like them as a shounen hero/heroine pairing. Saori has a lot of different things on her plate, not just Seiya.

- Chains aren't the best weapon to fight against a fire-based Saint, huh, Shun? Try hard! If only your boyfriend was here!
